Guidelines For Protesting With Us

1.      We Are a Peaceful, Nonpartisan Group

·         Absolutely no weapons, violence, or threatening behavior will be tolerated.

·         If someone makes an obscene gesture or says something inappropriate, do not respond in kind. a smile or thumbs up is the best reply.

·         If the situation escalates, sit down. do not engage

 

2.      Inviting Others

·         Feel free to bring along like-minded friends to our protests

·         Please only share our websites with individuals you know personally and trust to be aligned with our values.

3.      Be Prepared

·         Dress for the weather: sunscreen, hats, and water on sunny days; umbrellas or rain gear when it's wet.

·         We protest rain or shine, but in cases of severe weather we will cancel.

·         If the temperature is above 98 °f at protest time, we will shorten the protest to 1 hour.

·         If you need to sit, bring a lawn chair participation matters (more than posture.

 

4.      Signs and Symbols

·         Bring your own sign if you can! It doesn't have to be artistic even a simple "resist" works.

·         No obscene or offensive language.

·         Patriotic symbols and items like the U.S. flag are encouraged we are patriots who believe in our country and its constitution.

 

5.      Respect Our Community

·         Do not block roads or sidewalks.

·         Give others using the sidewalk plenty of space to pass.

·         Do not park in the Riverview hospital emergency department lot.

 

6.      Donations

·         we are not accepting monetary donations at this time.

·         If you'd like to support change, consider donating to community programs or nonprofits aligned with our values.
